Just one thing... When you said you'd be releasing stuff from 1st until the 7th, does that include tomorrow?

Wink

The skinning on all those models are f#%ing fantastic, I'm still loving the work made on this.

Also, lol. The off chance that I feel the need to post and I get hit with the high CPU load error.

That was a very nice audio. Instead of focusing solely on the weapons themselves, it was more on actual gameplay. Great job. Keep up the great work.

Impressive. Nice to see some skins on the Sherman. It looks great. The June audio update was incredible...very well done. I get immersed just listening. The real thing is gonna be intense.

Shermans, Willy, C47, Stuarts are all getting the texture treatment at the momment, but all of them only have a base diffuse, no normal maps, or spec maps.

What is Base Diffuse? Ive of course heard of normal mapping and Spec mapping, but I was curious. Dont the Normal maps look better?

Diffuse is the actual colour texture.

Read this:

http://www.game-artist.net/forums/showthread.php?t=42

Just note the Bump Mapping Process, Normal Mapping takes it to the next step, allowing more detail.

There is no wonder map that you use to get the level of detail in game. You layer various different types of maps that have different effects.

I know you said it isnt the Final Voice action but Dueing the plan crash landing behind enemy lines there was a huge lack of panic and urgancy in there voices.
They remained far to calm.

I hope thats fixed in the propper voice acting because i would imagine you would **** yourself in that situation

That would be because it's not the final voice acting...

I disagree. The Brits had been at war for close to 5 years when they landed in Normandy, and previously had gone thru a major World War 25 odd years ago. War was embedded into their psyche, they were calm and methodical servicemen and women, that's why they played a major part in winning the war against the Germans. Yes they would of experienced panic and anxiety during combat, but listen to the scene again and hear the certainty in the troop commanders voice directing his squad. Men follow courage.

I recently watched the BBC documentary 'Dunkirk', the urgency in the voices and general acting was'nt all that spectacular, certainly for a major broadcaster like the BBC I would of expected more, and I think we are on par with their capability atm, (actually one of the voice actors in the sample is a producer for the BBC). You'd of thought being trapped on a small sliver of land in France, facing annihilation would of called for more urgent actions, whereas 4 years or so later when the Brits invaded Normandy they knew they had won the war, they just had to go in and finalise the details.

We've discussed this within the team and yes we've agreed our voices could use more urgency and drama. However from day one, we have only ever had one professional voice actor, his work is great and he covers three or four accents, and is currently unavailable for duty, and we have no one else.

We've advertised extensively, no one has stepped up and given us the professional stuff we desire. Plenty of people have promised or tried, none have delivered.

The guys doing that scene were only 2, we wanted to showcase some British stuff. Sometimes it sounds like half a dozen men or more in there, for part time amateur voice actors, they did a great job.

Another thing, that so called plane crash, I am pretty sure was supposed to be a Glider borne section of troops, from the 2nd Ox and Bucks light infantry, hence no engine sounds, and also the lack of fear - they had been highly trained for what they were about to do, and were the best of the best.

That and also how it's a common British trait to understate things!

"Aaah we're only in an aircraft with no engines, made entirely from wood, being shot up by anti-aircraft fire and will eventually plummet into the ground... plus most of us will fly through the cockpit window! Oh have a look at Watson! He's still asleep!"

Man, audio is.......is....*drools*

I just have one question though: Sounded like the tank crew was firing whne the tank was still moving....is that realistic? Because i thought that no tank had gyroscopes until after the war.
